ABOUT CASA JJ
Casa JJ is a lovely 2 bedroom home on a 20,000 square foot lot, with a fully equipped open kitchen and living area with beautiful palapa roof and ceiling fans. Both bedrooms have air conditioning, ceiling fans and screened patio doors for comfortable sleeping, as well as their own ensuite bathrooms. Master bedroom equipped with king bed, smart TV and small private patio. Guest bedroom has queen bed and private entrance. A third small room off the Master bedroom acts as storage or a possible 3rd bedroom for a child.
It is just steps to an endless beach where you can walk for hours or play in the surf. Do take caution in the ocean as there can be strong waves and currents.
The pool at Casa JJ is the highlight of our property! At 12 metres long, you can do laps, play games, or just chill out on the benches and have a cerveza or a margarita on the in-pool table! Pool floaties are also included for your enjoyment. Children must be supervised at the pool at all times.
There is also a small outside kitchen area with charcoal BBQ, fridge, sink as well as a powder room located at the pool.
Casa JJ is a perfect retreat for those who are looking to really get away from it all. The fantastic Puerto Escondido Mercado is located about 20 mins away from Cumana. We highly recommend renting a car for your stay at Casa JJ, although, the local taxi and collectivos pass regularly on the HWY 200 if you are adventurous!

GETTING HERE
FLYING IN
Getting to Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, Mexico
There are direct flights into Huatulco from many major Canadian and US cities. From there, it is about a 1.5-2 hour drive to Puerto Escondido.
You can also fly into Puerto Escondido via Mexico City on a number of airlines. It is a short drive from Puerto to Cumana.
We recommend renting a car in Huatulco at the airport. There are Hertz, Avis and Europecar available to service you. Rental cars in Puerto Escondido can be quite expensive, but are available through Tres Reyes as well as Renta-me.
WHERE IS COSTA CUMANA?
Costa Cumana is located at km 156 on HWY 200 in Oaxaca, Mexico. A short 15 minute drive from Puerto Escondido and about 1.5-2 hours from Huatulco, a popular resort destination in Southern Mexico.
Our community is located between the Pacific Ocean and a large laguna that is bordered by farms. As you drive down from the highway, on either side of the dirt road are peanut farms, that slowly give way to the lush laguna. You are greeted at the entrance of Cumana with a secure gate and welcoming security staff. There is also a public access road to the beach.
WHAT TO DO HERE?
Puerto Escondido is home to a number of lovely and diverse beaches. From the lazy bay of Carrizalillo to the crushing Mexico Pipeline at Zicatela, there is a beach to satisfy every individual.
Surfers will delight at the size and weight of Zicatela, but only professionals will surf at this beach. Playa la Punta or Carrizalillo will offer a safer environment for beginners.
Many bays and reefs will amaze those drawn to scuba or snorkeling.
Short day trips down the coast will find you in small beach towns with laid back atmospheres such as Zipolite and Mazunte.
Adventurers can experience local waterfalls, hot springs, hiking and boating excursions on easy day trips. Whale and dolphin watching can be experienced from the beach at Cumana or out in a boat.
